The RBS EMEA team assembles a group of experienced project managers with industry expertise as well as experiences in complex projects out the container terminal industry. Implementing a terminal operating system is our daily task. As a project management standard we follow the IPMA (International Project Management Association) approach and have our team IPMA certified. We also have experts following other approaches such as PRINCE2.

Project Management

RBS EMEA supports your terminal through the whole project life cycle as project management and business and/or IT experts – from the GAP and process analysis to the implementation and go-live phase of a project. The RBS EMEA standard project approach ensures the delivery of a project setup for a green-field terminal as well as for a TOS replacement project. Throughout the whole project RBS EMEA can always fall back on the capabilities, skills and resources available within the whole akquinet group.

Implementation

RBS EMEA covers the full scope of services: Project management, process analysis and design, IT-consulting, quality management by means of test management and support, ‘Go-Live’ planning and support. During the TOPS implementation process RBS EMEA provides project preparation, training, implementation, service and management, as well as added technology, such as EDI tools and systems, RDT systems, RFID technology and many more.

Training

During the implementation process RBS EMEA will do a train-the-trainer training. Here selected key-users will be trained in handling and administering TOPS, as well as the corresponding and related processes. RBS usually performs two training tasks: Process and System training and Technical training for key-users. Additional training is available with respect to operational topics, such as yard strategy, vessel planning, trouble shooting, exception handling, etc. End user training will be done, too. After implementation, users can follow additional open training classes to reach advanced and expert certified levels.
